Bullpadel Padel Rackets Explained: Vertex vs Neuron vs XPLO vs Hack
Bullpadel is the biggest padel brand in our range, and if we're being honest, it's also the one that confuses people most. Half the rackets are named after (or built with) pro players, a lot of them come in standard, Comfort and Cloud versions, and the names change every season. Keeping up is a sport in itself.
So here's our plain-English guide to the Bullpadel families we stock, what the different versions mean, and which one we'd actually point you towards.
First things first: what do Comfort and Cloud mean?
This is the bit that trips most people up, so let's get it out of the way.
Comfort versions take a pro racket and make it easier to live with. On the 2027 models that usually means a Fibrix face instead of the carbon face on the standard version, a softer Multieva core and a slightly lighter or better-balanced setup. You keep the character of the racket, you lose some of the punishment.
Cloud versions are built to cut down vibration, so they're kinder on the arm while keeping the shape and feel of the family they come from.
For most club players, a Comfort or Cloud version is the more sensible buy than the full pro model. Bullpadel label a lot of their Pro Line rackets as professional or advanced level, and they mean it.
Vertex: the attacking one
The Vertex is Bullpadel's headline power racket and the one Juan Tello plays. The standard Vertex 05 27 is a diamond with a 12K carbon face, built for big smashes. Around it sit a few variations:
- The Vertex 05 Geo 27 uses a geometric head and a 3K carbon face. It's a touch more forgiving than the standard Vertex while still being an attacking racket.
- The Vertex 05 Hybrid 27 uses a hybrid head and a slightly lower balance, so it's more of an all-rounder.
- The Vertex 05 Geo 2026 is last year's Geo, which is usually the way to get a Vertex for less.
If you love to attack from the left side but you're not quite pro level (most of us), the Geo or Hybrid is where we'd start.
Neuron: control first
The Neuron is Fede Chingotto's racket and it's all about accuracy. The Neuron 02 27 is a hybrid shape with a 3K carbon face and a firm HardEva core. The Neuron 02 Edge 27 swaps to a geometric head for a bit more bite when you do go for it.
If the Neuron sounds right but a firm core doesn't, have a look at the Neuron 02 Cloud 2026. It keeps the control-first idea with a softer, vibration-reducing build and a big sweet spot.
XPLO: maximum power
Developed with Martín Di Nenno, the XPLO 02 27 is Bullpadel's most extreme attacking racket: geometric head, very high balance and a firm feel. It's brilliant for strong players who live for the smash and fairly unforgiving for everyone else. The XPLO 02 Comfort 27 keeps the power idea with a Fibrix face and a softer core, and it's the one most club players should look at first.
Hack: quick hands at the net
The Hack is Paquito Navarro's family. The Hack 05 Comfort 27 is a high-balance diamond that's about 5g lighter than the standard Hack 05, so it's quicker in the hand. The Hack 04 Hybrid Cloud 2026 goes the other way: hybrid shape, low balance and a soft, vibration-reducing feel.
Icon, Wonder and Elite
The Icon 27 is a heavier (370–375g) attacking diamond with a 12K carbon face. At the other end, the Wonder 27 and Elite 02 Woman 27 are lighter hybrids (350–360g) built for versatility. Don't let the name put you off the Elite 02 Woman: it suits anyone who wants a lighter racket.
What about the easier Bullpadel rackets?
Bullpadel's more accessible rackets, the Ionic Control and Ionic Power, the Indiga CTR and the Vertex Advance, are aimed squarely at improving and intermediate players. They're the ones we'd normally steer most new club players towards, but they've been popular and are out of stock as we write this. Keep an eye on the Bullpadel collection or ask us on live chat about restocks.
For juniors, the Vertex 05 Jr 26 and Vertex JR Girl 26 are smaller, lighter rackets made for younger players.
So which Bullpadel should you buy?
Our quick version:
- You want control and a soft feel: Neuron 02 Cloud 2026.
- You want to attack but you're not a pro: Vertex 05 Geo or Hybrid, or the XPLO 02 Comfort.
- You want something lighter: Wonder 27 or Elite 02 Woman 27.
- You play at a high level and want the real thing: Vertex 05, Neuron 02, XPLO 02 or Icon.
