Which adult hockey shoe should I buy?
It mostly comes down to how often you play and what you want the shoe to do. Here's how we'd split them.
Newer and casual players
The adidas Hockeystar, Osaka Furo and Kookaburra Verve all come in under £75 and give you proper hockey grip and comfort without spending a fortune.
Regular club players
Between £75 and £100 you'll find the adidas Adipower Hockey League (with a TPU torsion bar for stability), the Hockey Lux League, the Osaka Kai and the Grays Aero Cage X10, which is excellent value for a shoe worn by internationals.
Playing at a high level
The top shoes are the adidas Adizero Lux 3 (adidas' lightest hockey shoe), the Adipower Hockey 4, the Mizuno Wave Leopardus and Wave Panthera 2, and the Osaka Ryu.
Speed or support?
Fast forwards and midfielders often go for the lightest shoe they can find, like the Adizero Lux 3 or Leopardus. If you'd rather have more stability and cushioning, look at the Adipower Hockey 4 or the Panthera 2.
What sizes do adult hockey shoes come in?
Most of our adult shoes start at UK 4 or 5 and go up to UK 12, and the Grays AC Raid 3.0 goes up to UK 13. If your child has moved into adult sizes, have a look here as well as at our junior hockey shoes.
