The Y1 2026/27 Cosmic Hockey Stick Range

The new Y1 2026/27 Cosmic hockey stick range has landed at One Sports Warehouse, and it is one of the biggest Y1 launches we’ve seen.

There are 59 sticks in the new Cosmic range, covering every bow shape, carbon level and playing style. That might sound like a lot, but Y1 have actually kept the range fairly easy to understand once you break it down properly.

The main thing is to start with the bow shape. Once you know how you play, you can then choose the carbon level that suits your standard, budget and confidence on the ball.

Y1 2026/27 Cosmic Hockey Sticks

The new Y1 hockey stick range is built around six main bow profiles:

Each bow has a different feel and a different type of player in mind. Some are designed for all-round hockey, some are better for drag flicking and aerials, and others are built for close control and 3D skills.

The range is also split across five main carbon levels:

The higher carbon sticks will feel stiffer and more powerful. The lower carbon sticks will feel more forgiving and easier to control, especially if you are still developing your touch.

[Infographic suggestion: Add a “Which Y1 stick should I choose?” graphic here. Suggested layout: ADB = all-round control, MR = attacking low bow, GLB/GGLB = low bow with a stable feel, LB = drag flicking and aerials, YLB = specialist skills/ultra-low bow, BB = close control and cradling.

Y1 ADB: The All-Rounder

The Y1 ADB range is the easiest one to recommend to a lot of players.

ADB stands for Advanced Dribble Bow, and it is designed for players who want a stick that can do a bit of everything. It gives you a good balance for dribbling, passing, receiving, hitting and carrying the ball.

If you play in midfield, defence, or you simply want a stick that does not feel too specialist, the ADB is a very sensible place to start.

At the top end, the Y1 ADB X is the premium option in the ADB family. This is best suited to confident players who want a stiff, powerful stick with a very responsive feel.

The Y1 ADB X.2 is another strong option for serious club players, while the Y1 ADB 70 gives you a good balance of power and control. The Y1 ADB 50 and Y1 ADB 30 are better choices if you want the same bow shape with a more forgiving feel.

Y1 MR: Low Bow For Attackers And Drag Flickers

The Y1 MR range is built for players who want a low bow without going too extreme.

This is a really good option for attacking midfielders, forwards and players who like to lift the ball, use 3D skills and get under the ball more easily. It is also a strong choice for drag flickers who still want a stick that feels playable around the pitch.

The MR shape gives you that extra help for flicking and aerial skills, but it still keeps enough control for passing, receiving and general match play.

The Y1 MR X is the top-end option in the MR range. It is best suited to advanced players who want maximum stiffness and response from a low bow.

The Y1 MR X.2 is a great option if you want high-level performance with a slightly more manageable feel, while the Y1 MR 70, MR 50 and MR 30 give you the same style of bow across different carbon levels.

Y1 GLB / GGLB: Low Bow Skills With A More Stable Feel

The Y1 GLB / GGLB range is a really interesting part of the Y1 Cosmic collection.

These sticks are built for players who want low-bow benefits, but still want the stick to feel stable and controlled when trapping, passing and hitting. That makes them a good choice if you like skills and ball manipulation, but do not want a stick that feels too aggressive.

The GLB and GGLB profiles are popular with players who want help with 3D skills, drag flicking and lifted passes, while still keeping a cleaner feel for core skills.

If you like the idea of a low bow but are not sure you want something as specialist as the YLB or BB, this is a good range to look at.

The Y1 GLB X and Y1 GGLB X sit at the top end of this family. The X.2 and 70 models are strong choices for competitive club players, while the 50 and 30 models give you a more forgiving feel.

Y1 LB: For Drag Flicking, Aerials And Low-Bow Control

The Y1 LB range is one of the key Y1 low-bow options.

This is the range to look at if you want a stick for drag flicking, aerials, lifted skills and attacking play. It gives you more help getting under the ball than an all-round bow, which makes it useful for players who like to flick, throw overheads or lift the ball over flat sticks.

The LB is a good option for forwards, attacking midfielders, drag flickers and defenders who like playing aerial passes.

The Y1 LB X is the top-end option and is aimed at advanced players who want the stiffest, most powerful version of the LB profile.

The Y1 LB X.2 is another excellent option if you like the LB shape but want something slightly more accessible. The Y1 LB 70, LB 50 and LB 30 then give you the same low-bow idea across different power and feel levels.

There is also the Y1 AH16 LB, which uses the LB profile and gives attacking players another strong option within the Cosmic range.

Y1 YLB: The Specialist Skills Stick

The Y1 YLB range is for players who want something more specialist.

This is the one for serious skills players, drag flickers and attackers who are comfortable using a more aggressive bow shape. If you like 3D skills, aerials, flicks and close attacking play around the D, the YLB is one of the most exciting Y1 profiles.

It is not going to be the right stick for every player. If you are still working on your basics, an ADB, MR or GLB might be easier to use. But if you already know you want a specialist low-bow stick, the YLB is definitely worth looking at.

The Y1 YLB X is the premium option for advanced players. The Y1 YLB X.2 and Y1 YLB 70 are strong choices for competitive players who want the YLB shape with slightly different levels of stiffness and feel.

Y1 BB: Close Control And Cradling

The Y1 BB range is one of the most unique options in the Y1 collection.

This stick is built around close control, cradling and precision dribbling. It is designed for players who like to keep the ball close to the stick head, move quickly in tight areas and use fast hands under pressure.

The BB will suit attacking players who like to carry the ball, beat players and work in small spaces. It is also a good option if you want something that feels different from a more traditional low-bow stick.

The Y1 BB X is the top-end model in the BB family, while the Y1 BB 70 gives you a more accessible version of the same idea.

Y1 Carbon Levels Explained

One of the most useful things about the Y1 2026/27 Cosmic range is that most bow shapes are available in different carbon levels.

The Y1 X models are the highest-performance sticks. These are stiff, powerful and best suited to advanced players who are confident on the ball.

The Y1 X.2 models sit just below the X range. They are still high-performance sticks, but with a slightly more manageable feel.

The Y1 70 range is a really strong option for regular club players who want good power without going too stiff.

The Y1 50 range gives you a nice balance between power and touch, making it a good choice for players who want a bit more feel on the ball.

The Y1 30 range is the most forgiving option in the Cosmic range. This is ideal for developing players, younger players moving into senior sticks, or anyone who wants more control rather than maximum stiffness.

Which Y1 Cosmic Stick Should You Choose?

Here’s the simple version:

If you want an all-round stick, look at the Y1 ADB.

If you want a low bow for attacking play, flicking and 3D skills, look at the Y1 MR.

If you want a low bow that still feels controlled for trapping, passing and hitting, look at the Y1 GLB / GGLB.

If you want a stick for drag flicking, aerials and lifted skills, look at the Y1 LB.

If you want a specialist skills stick with a more aggressive bow shape, look at the Y1 YLB.

If you want close control, cradling and precision dribbling, look at the Y1 BB.

If you already know what type of player you are, the decision becomes much easier. Pick the bow shape that suits how you play, then choose the carbon level that matches your standard and confidence on the ball.

Final Thoughts

The new Y1 2026/27 Cosmic hockey stick range gives players a huge amount of choice, but it is not as complicated as it first looks.

The ADB is the all-rounder. The MR is a strong low-bow option for attackers and drag flickers. The GLB / GGLB gives you low-bow skills with a more stable feel. The LB is built for drag flicking and aerials. The YLB is the specialist skills option, and the BB is made for close control and cradling.
