A stick bag carries your sticks and your kit in one go, which makes it the go-to for club players with a spare stick (or an indoor one in winter). Sizes run from compact single-stick bags like the Kookaburra Octane up to the Kookaburra Pro Holdall, which takes 4 to 6 sticks and a full kit. In between, the Y1 Drift Max takes up to 3 sticks in a slim 30-litre bag, and the Grays Alpha X takes up to 4 and comes with a detachable rucksack. Not sure which size? Call us on 0191 447 4744.

Which size do I need?

  • One stick: a single-stick bag like the Kookaburra Octane, which shortens with poppers when you don't need the full length.
  • Two or three sticks: the Grays G600 has a padded compartment for 2–3 sticks, and the Y1 Drift Max takes up to 3.
  • Four or more: the Kookaburra Forge and Grays Alpha X take up to 4, and the Kookaburra Pro Holdall takes 4–6.

What to look for

  • A shoe compartment: keeps muddy astro shoes away from your clean kit. Trust us on this one.
  • A valuables pocket: for your phone, keys and gum shield.
  • How you carry it: backpack straps spread the weight on longer walks, a single strap is quicker on and off.
  • Length: check the stick compartment fits your longest stick.

Only carrying one stick?

If you walk, cycle or get the bus to training, a hockey backpack with a stick holder might suit you better. Keepers, take a look at our goalkeeping bags.
