Our 2024/25 Field Hockey Stick Review

Welcome to the annual field hockey stick review where we take a look at the best hockey sticks from this season! We will look at different bows, positional sticks, value for money etc.

The categories are as follows:

  1. Best drag-flicking stick
  2. Best hitting stick
  3. Best defenders stick
  4. Best midfielders stick
  5. Best attackers stick
  6. Best value for money stick
  7. Best all round stick of 2024

Allow us to begin with... the best drag flicking stick of 2024/25 season.

Mercian Elite CKF90 Ultimate White Face Edition

There has been a whole lot of commotion around white face sticks over the past two seasons. And we have seen lots of brands releasing white face sticks to aid deception when drag flicking. With there being so many flicking sticks now on the market, we had to take all aspects of the stick into consideration when deciding which stick takes the top spot. The Mercian CKF90 has amazing weight distribution and the bow is perfectly positioned late down the stick, allowing for maximum power generation for flicking.

Best hitting stick for 2024/25

Grays GR10000 Dynambow

Some sticks need no introduction.... and there is no introduction needed when it comes to the Grays GR10000. Used across the world by so many international athletes, and when it comes to hitting and slapping a hockey ball there are few sticks on the market that compete with the Grays. Not only are we huge fans of the Grays but feedback from the likes of Fiona Crackles and Tess Howard (England and GB internationals) both say the same as us. Whether you're a defender looking to be able to improve your passing distances or a forward looking to gain more power with your hitting, the GR10000 is really worth consideration.

Other sticks that we're in with a chance were the Y1 ADB X, Adidas Estro .1 Kromaskin and Osaka Pro Tour 100

Best defenders stick for 2024/25

Adidas Fabela .3 Kromaskin

When looking at defenders sticks and what we look for in the back line, we looked for a real all rounders stick that covered all the basis's very well. Not too much carbon, well balanced, and prioritised predictability over everything else. Without further ado, our best defenders stick of 2024 is the Adidas Fabela .3 Kromaskin. If predictability is what you're looking for, and a very nice amount of carbon to allow you to distribute without sacrificing first touch, then this is the stick for every defender.

Best midfielders stick for 2024/25

Y1 GLB 70

When it comes to midfield players. We believe the most important part of the game that thier stick can support them with is their first touch. And our verdict on the best stick for 2024 which provides the best first touch is the Y1 GLB 70. Truly incredible at aiding with quality first touch feedback, allowing you to think ahead and not worry about trapping the ball perfectly.

Others that came very close to the top spot were the Adidas Ina .3 Kromaskin and the Osaka Pro Tour 70 Low Bow

Best attackers stick for 2024/25

Grays GR9000 Probow

When it comes to attackers we feel there are lots of variables to take into consideration. Generally speaking attackers need a stick that can create chances from nothing and can do everything very well. This is why the Grays GR9000 takes top spot. With it's unique late bow it allows forwards to flick, 3D and be incredibly creative whilst its carbon content allows for incredible power when shooting forehand and backhands.

Best value for money stick for 2024/25

TK Black Elephant

When it comes to value for money we couldn't look past the TK Black Elephant. With its high carbon content, amazing build quality and incredibly competitive price (currently up for grabs on our website for £55 down from £150). We know customers who have played with their black elephants for over 2 years and they are still loving the feel and power they're creating.

Best all-round stick for 2024/25

Y1 LB X

Our best-selling stick of the 2024/25 season, and for good reasons. Whether its passing long distances, drag flicking, goalscoring, or dribbling. The LB X truly is in a field of its own when it comes to doing everything you need it do. The lightness and balance is the aspect that really stands out to us. Being incredibly well balanced whilst still providing some of the highest quality feedback in terms of first touch, 3D and ball carry abilities.

We can't wait to see what 2025/26 season brings in terms of what the brands will do with their sticks. We hope you're as excited as us!
